I started my art career painting traditional landscapes and I still like to return to this old love. So much of my imagery is grounded in my experience of painting nature as it presents itself, either through plein air painting or from working in the studio. I continue to enjoy looking for effects of light and shadow and I try to get a deep sense of the place I may find myself in. There is always an emotional pull from the scenes which I paint which I try to infuse into the work.
